On Tuesday, April 22, members of the Immaculate Conception Legacy Society and select donors who contributed to the education of the “Magnificent 7,” the seven transitional deacons being ordained to the priesthood this June, gathered at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit for a special event that brought them face-to-face with the future of our Church — the seminarians they help support through prayer and generosity.
The Meet Your Major Seminarians event was a day filled with faith and fellowship. The morning began with a beautiful Mass in the seminary chapel, offering a reverent and uplifting start to the day. Attendees then paused in prayer at the chapel’s memorial altar to remember and honor the life of Pope Francis, who passed away the day prior.
Following this sacred time, guests were guided on a tour of the seminary by the seminarians themselves, offering an inside look at their daily formation, study, and community life. Afterward, everyone gathered for a warm and welcoming lunch.
A highlight of the afternoon was an engaging panel discussion with the “Magnificent 7.” These men were the focus of a special, private fundraising campaign and the event provided an opportunity for donors to see firsthand the impact of their gifts and meet the future priests they helped to educate and form.
The day concluded with a moving and prayerful chant offered by the seminarians as a parting gift of gratitude to those in attendance. To revisit the spirit and moments of this meaningful gathering, we invite you to view a special photo and video slideshow from the day:
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended, supported, and continue to pray for our seminarians. Your commitment is shaping the future of the Church — one vocation at a time.
