What does it mean to leave a legacy?
For many, it’s about providing for loved ones and ensuring their family is cared for. But for those rooted in faith, legacy can mean something even more—it becomes an expression of love that reaches beyond this life and into eternity.
At The Catholic Foundation of the Diocese of Lansing, we are blessed to witness this kind of love every day.
When individuals and families choose to include the Church in their estate plans, they are doing more than making a financial decision. They are making a profound statement of faith.
They are saying:
A legacy gift reflects gratitude for a lifetime of blessings—sacraments received, children educated in the faith, community experienced in parish life—and a desire to ensure those same blessings remain available for future generations.
A legacy gift is, at its heart, an act of love.
It is love for:
Through a simple provision in a will, a beneficiary designation, or the creation of an endowment, that love continues—quietly, faithfully, and powerfully—long after one’s lifetime.
These gifts help sustain the mission of the Church across the Diocese of Lansing:
Each legacy gift becomes a seed planted in faith—one that will bear fruit for generations to come.
Those who have made this commitment are welcomed into the Immaculate Conception Legacy Society—a community of faithful stewards united by a shared love for the Church.
Members are remembered in prayer at least monthly at St. Mary Cathedral and are invited to gatherings that celebrate their generosity and witness. It is a beautiful reminder that legacy is not only about the future—it is also about belonging to a community of faith today.
