For the glory of God and the salvation of souls, The Catholic Foundation inspires giving and stewards funds for the work of the Catholic Church throughout the Diocese of Lansing.
The Catholic Foundation of the Diocese of Lansing was incorporated in 2016. The Foundation’s purpose is to promote and build philanthropic support for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lansing and its parishes and schools; to build long term financial stability for Catholic causes within the Diocese of Lansing; and to advance the Roman Catholic religion. The Foundation is governed by its Board of Directors, who are appointed by the Bishop of Lansing.
In 2016, the Diocese of Lansing initiated a historic effort to raise $65 million in its first-ever comprehensive diocesan-wide campaign entitled Witness to Hope. As of December 31, 2023, the Witness to Hope Campaign is complete, with nearly $75 million received and distributed in support of the campaign’s published goals. Of this, over $41 million has been distributed to our parishes and nearly $34 million has been distributed to wider church. The Foundation is proud to have facilitated the campaign and rejoices in its success.
The Catholic Foundation is an organized Michigan nonprofit corporation, and is a publicly supported charitable organization that is exempt from federal and state taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
